📋 Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

Step 1: Install the Device (5 minutes)

Locate your garage door opener's wall button
Connect SGO device wires to the same two terminals as your wall button
Plug SGO into a standard power outlet
The device LED will start blinking - it's creating its WiFi network

Step 2: Connect to Device WiFi

On your phone or laptop, open WiFi settings
Look for network named: "GarageDoor-Setup"
Connect to this network (no password required)
Wait until you see "Connected" confirmation

Step 3: Configure Your Home WiFi

Open your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.)
Type in the address bar: 192.168.4.1/setup
You'll see the WiFi configuration page
Enter your home WiFi network name (SSID) - case sensitive!
Enter your home WiFi password - case sensitive!
Click the "Save" button
Wait for confirmation: "Configuration saved! Restarting..."
Device will disconnect and restart (this takes about 10 seconds)
Device will connect to your home WiFi network

Step 4: Register & Activate Your Device

Reconnect your phone/laptop to your regular home WiFi
Open browser and go to: craftysparkle.com/smart-garage
First time users: Enter admin credentials and your activation code
Create your account (username, email, password)
Login with your new credentials
Configure WiFi and set your 4-digit garage control passcode
✅ You're done! Start controlling your garage!

⚠️ Troubleshooting & Common Questions

Can't see "GarageDoor-Setup" WiFi?
Ensure device is powered on and wait 30-60 seconds. Check that device LED is blinking. Try restarting the device.
Can't access 192.168.4.1?
Verify you're connected to "GarageDoor-Setup" network, NOT your home WiFi. Try typing http://192.168.4.1/setup with http://
WiFi configuration not saving?
Double-check WiFi name and password are 100% correct. Both are case-sensitive! Make sure there are no extra spaces.
Device shows offline in the app?
Device may still be connecting (can take up to 2 minutes). Check your router to see if device connected. Power cycle the device and wait.
Need to change WiFi network later?
Use the Settings page in the web app to update WiFi remotely, or press the physical reset button on device to start setup again.
Forgot my passcode?
You'll need to factory reset the device by holding the reset button for 10 seconds, then set up again with a new passcode.
